Our Wines
Flying Fox Viognier Keep Me In The Loop

Flying Fox Wines

Our approach to winemaking is very pragmatic. We manage our vines for low yield and maximum fruit intensity. We work with small batches of fruit that have the most desirable characteristics of the terroir and each individual varietal. We want to make the most honest wine possible from the very best grapes.

Flying Fox 2009 Viognier2010 Viognier

A lovely example of Viognier with hints of ripe apricot and lemon. The wine is dry, aromatic and floral, with flavors of apricot, peaches and pears.  Gold Medal 2011 Virginia State Fair

Fox White2010 Fox White

A lightly sweet version of Vidal Blanc. Great with spicy food or just for sipping on the front porch.

Rose2010 Rosé

Our Rosé is a lively and refreshing dry wine with flavors of soft red fruit and a hint of almond. Produced from Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes picked specifically for our Rosé. Serve well chilled on a warm summer day.

Flying Fox 2007 Cabernet Franc2008 Cabernet Franc

A classic example of Virginia Cabernet Franc. Ripe fruit, oak with a hint of cedar and a lovely balance of richness and acidity. Gold Medal 2011 Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition

Trio2008 Trio

A harmonious blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot with each grape adding its unique notes to the wine. After 18 months of "rehearsal" in the cellar, our best  barrels were chosen for this limited production, classically styled wine. Platinum Medal 2011 Virginia Wine Classic

Petit Verdot2008 Petit Verdot

Our Petit Verdot is grown in a perfect one acre corner of our vineyard on the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains. A summer with excellent growing conditions and 18 months of aging in French and American oak produced a wine with deep color, smooth mature tannins and a lingering finish. Gold Medal 2011 Monticello Cup

Fox Red2008 Fox Red

We produce this wine from a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Rich and smooth, this wine is semi-dry and able to stand up to strong flavors such as blue cheese or barbeque. Serve it hot and mulled in the winter, or chilled in the summer. Our "Flying Fox" is now launching into flight from a cannon. Raise a glass to an exciting new adventure!
